Understanding the Cost of Vinyl Siding

What’s Your Home’s Square Footage?

The size of your home is the primary factor in determining costs. Siding is priced per square foot, so calculating your home’s exterior square footage is essential. Measure the length and height of each wall and multiply to get the total.

How Many Stories Is Your Home?

The number of stories impacts installation costs. Multi-story homes require additional labor, scaffolding, and time, increasing expenses.

How Complex Is Your Home’s Footprint?

Homes with intricate designs, corners, and gables incur higher costs due to the precision required for cutting and fitting, which raises material waste and labor time.

Cost Per Square Foot

Costs range from $2 to $10 per square foot, depending on the style and quality. Premium styles, like insulated or stone siding, are at the higher end.

Estimating Siding Needs

To estimate siding needs:

  1. Measure each wall’s height and width.
  2. Calculate the square footage for each wall.
  3. Add the totals together.
  4. Subtract the square footage of windows and doors for a precise estimate.

Why Choose Vinyl Siding?

Vinyl siding is a durable and cost-effective option, making it a popular choice compared to more expensive materials like wood or fiber cement. One of its biggest advantages is its low maintenance requirements—unlike other materials, vinyl doesn’t need frequent painting or sealing, saving homeowners both time and money. Additionally, it offers unmatched versatility in design, with a wide range of styles and colors available to suit any architectural aesthetic or personal preference. Whether you’re looking to boost curb appeal or protect your home from the elements, vinyl provides a reliable and attractive solution.

Factors That Affect Vinyl Siding Costs

  • Condition of Current Siding: Repairs or structural updates may be needed before installation, increasing costs.
  • Removal of Existing Siding: Demolition and disposal fees depend on the existing material.
  • Size & Shape of the Home: Larger homes or those with complex designs require more materials and labor.
  • Other Costs: Permits, inspections, brand quality, and clean-up fees can also impact the total price.

  • I am very impressed with this company! Dave Cloyd was very professional and extremely helpful in getting all of my repairs figured out and I was given a comparable price. I needed a lot of repairs after Hurricane Milton, and VinylTech was the only company that could handle all of the damages. I really liked having one contractor do it all, and Dave was great to work with. Omar, and his guys, were very hardworking and extremely kind and did a fantastic job with the siding and other repairs. I would recommend Omar to anyone since it seems he can repair anything, and was so very nice. I’m very glad I hired VinylTech to repair all of my damage!
